What it is

A real place to publish your work.

Finishing a project and having nowhere to send it is where most student research quietly ends. The YRP Journal exists to be that destination: reviewed by students, guided by standards, and open to anyone in high school.

What a published paper will look like

Every accepted submission is formatted to the same standard, so student work is presented the way research is presented anywhere else.

Research Article

Sample title: a specific, answerable question stated in one line

Author affiliations, secondary school, city and country

Abstract

A short summary of the question, what was done to investigate it, what was found, and why it matters. Written so a reader outside the field can follow it, usually in about 200 words.

Keywords

four to six terms, separated by commas

The process

How review will work

Peer review is the part that makes a journal a journal. Ours is run by students and overseen by our editorial team, and nothing is published without passing it.

Submit

You send your manuscript with your data, your methods, and a statement of what is yours and what you built on.

Editorial check

We confirm the work is in scope, complete, correctly cited, and genuinely your own before it goes any further.

Peer review

Student reviewers with relevant background read it and return written comments, questions, and requested changes.

Revise

You respond to the review and resubmit. Most papers go through at least one round, and that is normal.

Decision

Accept, revise again, or decline. Every decision comes with reasons you can learn from, whichever way it goes.

Publish

Accepted work is formatted, archived, and given a permanent link you can cite on an application or CV.

Academic integrity

The standards we hold.

A publication is only worth something if the work in it is real. These are not fine print, they are the conditions of being published here.

  • The work is yoursSubmissions must be your own. Contributions from mentors, teachers, or collaborators are named and described.
  • Sources are citedEvery idea, figure, and dataset you did not produce is attributed. Plagiarism ends a submission immediately.
  • Data is real and availableResults come from data you actually collected or accessed, and you share it so a reader can check your work.
  • Methods are reproducibleYou describe what you did in enough detail that someone else could repeat it and get the same result.
  • AI use is declaredTools may help you write or analyse. You state what you used and how, and the thinking remains yours.
  • Findings are reported honestlyNegative, partial, and inconclusive results are welcome here. Overstated ones are not.
